Herberger Theater Center
Phoenix, AZ

The Herberger Theater Center was originally conceived as a pivotal piece of the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Phoenix. Built in 1989 to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix as a performance venue and arts incubator, the Herberger Theater Center has contributed to the cultural and educational development of the Valley. Pfocus principal, Rick Pfannenstiel provided project management services during the original construction of the center.

In the 2006 Citizens Bond Election, Phoenix voters approved a total bond package of $878 million, including $16.5 million for the Refurbishment of the Herberger Theater Center. The project scope includes ADAAG compliance; mechanical, electrical and security upgrades; interior/exterior renovations of public spaces. Construction will be phased during two consecutive summers to maintain the resident companies’ performance schedule during the performance season.

Pfocus is providing Program Management services including strategic leadership and day-to-day project management from the onset of the project through construction.
