Mesa Arts Center
Mesa, AZ
Oasis, a gathering place and respite for desert dwellers may describe the Mesa Arts Center. This public amenity in the heart of downtown Mesa, Arizona establishes a unique symbiotic relationship between presentation and education of the arts. The 210,000 square foot Center features four performing arts theaters, visual arts galleries, and studios for visual and performing arts education surrounding the public plaza. Patrons experience optimum presentation and performance within an architectural setting representative of the special Arizona geological character. Ultimately, the Mesa Arts Center promotes the arts and revitalization of this Southwestern community.
As Project Director providing strategic leadership and day-to-day management for over six years, the mission was to guide the cast-of-thousands. This included the Design Committee, User Groups, Technical Task Force, Public Interest Groups, Design Team, Construction Team, and the Construction Management Team. Delivering the project planning, design, bid/award, and construction phases consistent with the aesthetic, functional, quality, budget, and schedule goals was an integral part of the Center's success.
